Elizabeth "Libby" Michelle Betty Smith's Obituary
Elizabeth Michelle Betty "Libby" Smith passed away surrounded by her family at Integris Miami hospital, Thur., Sep. 29, 2016, after sudden complications related to her brave life-long battle with cerebral palsy. Libby was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., Mar. 29, 1998. She was 18. Libby was a beautiful and fun-loving young lady who always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved to laugh, paint, do arts and crafts projects, eat good food, and spend time with her family, especially her brother and protector, Dyllion, and baby sister, Addi Jo. Gone too soon, but certainly not forgotten, Libby leaves a legacy of finding joy in life regardless of one's circumstances. Libby is survived by her mother, Bridget Olsen, of Sand Spring, Okla., her father, Jason Smith, and his wife, Shelby, of the home in Miami; brother, Dyllion, and sister, Addileigh Josephine, of the home; grandparents, Harold and Sharon Olsen, of Disney, Okla., Alan "Tag" Smith of Grand Haven, Mich., Joyce Bennett of Burlington, Iowa, and Lonnie and Lew Ann Wynn of Welch, Okla.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends who will all miss and remember her fondly. The family will receive visitors at the Thomas Funeral Home chapel in Welch, Mon., Oct. 3, 2016, from 1-2 p.m. Libby's memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Rogers Cemetery west and north of Welch. Taylor Smith, Tyler Smith, Damontay Tyson, and Mitchell Hemphill will serve as casket bearers. Her uncle Tyson Wynn will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Libby's memorial fund--c/o Thomas Funeral Home, PO Box 231, Welch OK 74369--to help offset the cost of Libby's unexpected final expenses.
