Edward Jenkins' Obituary
Edward “Eddy” Jenkins, 60, of Miami passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Freeman Health Systems in Joplin, Missouri. He was born in Columbus, Kansas on June 22, 1956 to James and Rita Colleen (Grant) Jenkins. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a mechanic for his friends and people that were in need. He enjoyed fixing things, motorcycles, Cushman’s, and “Betty” his Harley Davidson. He was preceded in passing by his parents James and Rita Jenkins, and his brother Danny Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife Kimberly Jenkins of the home, his children Marley Cook of Miami, Jeff Jenkins of Grove, Kelli Marta of Bentonville, Courtney Gutowksi of Portage, Indiana, and Danielle Moore of Tulsa, his brother Jimmy Jenkins of Tulsa, his sister Jana Jenkins of Neosho, Missouri and his grandchildren Blake Jenkins, Gage Jenkins, Lyla Jenkins, Baeli Marta, Clayton Gutowski, Taylor Gutowski, Ally Gutowski, Jake Gutowski, Randy Collins, Cayden Cook, Hunter Cook and Harvey Moore. He is also survived by a special friend that he considered a son, Ross Crane.
There will be a Vigil for Eddy on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 6:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami with Reverend Carl Kerkemeyer officiating; Interment will follow at the Northeastern Oklahoma Memorial Veterans Cemetery in North Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
The will be a gathering to Celebrate Eddy’s Life at 4:00 PM at the Elks Lodge in Miami.
