Edgar G. Hollandsworth's Obituary
Edgar G. Hollandsworth, 88, of Bluejacket, OK, went to be with the Lord, January 7, 2015 at Craig General Hospital, Vinita, OK, surrounded by his family. He was born February 13, 1926 in Bluejacket, OK to Edgar and Lela Maude (Herrin) Hollandsworth. After attending Bluejacket High School, he proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. On March 1, 1979, he married Ruby Beehler in Liberal, Kansas, where he worked for 30 years in Engineering for the Kansas State Highway Dept. The couple later moved to Bluejacket and Edgar took a job in maintenance at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, retiring after 10 years. Edgar loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, fishing on Grand Lake with family and friends, and pecan pickin'. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Liberal, KS, and the VFW of Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of over 35 years; 1 daughter, Judy Salensky of Vinita; 2 step-sons, Royce Ayres of Bluejacket and Aaron Ayres of Rural Welch; 9 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 brother, Bernard Hollandsworth of Lake Jackson, TX; 1 sister, Regina Mancinis of Clovis, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK. Pastor Ivan Eck will officiate. Serving as Casketbearers will be Jeremy Ayres, Rudy and Sonny Winfrey, Ronnie Nigh, Jerry Taylor, and Leroy Satterwhite. Honorary Casketbearers will be Gale Nigh and Gene Windle. Interment at Bluejacket Cemetery, Bluejacket, OK.
