Edgar James "Ed" Burchett's Obituary
Edgar James “Ed” Burchett, ninety-two-year-old Miami, Oklahoma resident passed away Friday September 27, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri.
Ed was born on May 13, 1927 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Henry and Vergie Burchett. After proudly serving his country in the United States Army Ed worked the rest of his life as a barber. He had a barber shop in Chelsea for many years before moving his business to Miami, Oklahoma. Most of his friends and family will remember this most about him and call him Mr. Ed.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Margene Nease Burchett, son Edgar James Burchett Jr., granddaughter Tara Rae Burchett, great granddaughter Kayla Renee Burchett and siblings, Novie, Mabel, Irene and Harvey
Ed is survived by his wife Betty of the home, a granddaughter Tessa Burchett Williams and husband Chad, great grandchildren Adrian Nicole Amaro, Blaine Williams, Kamron Williams, Cruz Amaro, and Kara Amaro. He also has 2 great great granddaughters; Kiersten Swindell and Kennadi Swindell. Ed is also survived by a stepdaughter Sheryl Bates and step grandchildren Janea Barger, Chasity Linton, Haylie Linton and Brett Trigg.
A visitation for Ed will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. October 2, 2019 at the Chelsea Cemetery in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Notes of encouragement for the family may be left at www.brown-winters.com.
