Doyle James' Obituary
Carlton Doyle James, 75, Respected businessman and U.S. Navy Veteran, of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away December 2, 2015 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, surrounded by his family. Doyle was born April 1, 1940 in Elkhart, KS to Jesse and Juanita (Miller) James. He attended Bluejacket and Sapulpa, OK schools. He proudly served his country as a medic for the United States Navy. On February 21, 1972, he married Billie Joyce Langley. The couple made their home in Miami where they owned and operated Doyle James Bonding Company and East Central Pawn. After 41 years together, Joyce preceded Doyle in death on August 9, 2013. Doyle was known for his spunkiness and his devotion to his family and community. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Miami Masonic Lodge #140, Akdar Shriner, and a member of the Elks Lodge of Miami. He enjoyed coffee with the guys at Alene's Restaurant in the mornings, fishing, and working in the garden. Doyle was also preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers. He is survived by 2 sons, Pat Curry and Wayne James, both of Miami; 1 daughter, Carla Banning of Lenapah; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Winford James of Pittsburg, KS and Virgil James of White Deer, TX; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce, OK. Pastor Leroy Orr will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be Tim Morris, Calvin Jones, John Luttrell, Jimmy Johnson, Mark Jones, and Ray Vanover. Interment at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Adkar Shriners.
