Mr. Douglas "Doug" Harold Parcell's Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Harold Parcell, a fifty-seven year old longtime Miami resident passed away in Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami on Sunday, April 22, 2011. Doug was born on September 10, 1954 in Nome, Alaska to Harold and Ruth (Hilleary) Parcell. They moved to Miami when Doug was six, he graduated from Miami High School then went on to receive a Bachelors Degree from Missouri Southern in Political Science. He worked at Yellow Freight on the docks; he also worked at Miami Country Club. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing on the river and listening to classic rock and roll. Doug had a special place in his heart for animals. Mr. Parcell was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ruth and a brother-in-law Otis Watts.
Surviving family include his brothers and sister, John and Ann Parcell, Trish Parcell, Dave and Roxie Parcell and Dick and Debbie Parcell, nieces and nephews; Grant and Sara Parcell, Rachel and Dave Gilstrap, Aislyn Parcell, Kenzie and Thomas Royce, Derek Parcell, Kelsey Parcell, William Watts, Elena Parcell and Jack Parcell along with great nieces and nephews Hunter, Holden, Aubrey Faith and Avenlee Gilstrap, Maddox Royce, Luke and Will Parcell.
Services for Mr. Parcell will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Cooper Memorial Chapel at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
