Doretha I. McCoy's Obituary
Doretha I. McCoy, 89, of Dewey, OK, passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Craig General Hospital, Vinita, OK, with her family at her side. Doretha was born January 11, 1924 at Welch, OK to Jeff and Lillie Belle (Hail) Beebe. She attended Welch Public Schools. In September of 1942, she married Jack McCoy. The couple made their home in Commerce. Doretha, an avid homemaker, enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, reading, and gardening. Jack preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Jay and Paul Beebe; 3 sisters, Maude Mitchell, Beulah James, and Esther Hensley; and 1 granddaughter, Tina Bachman. She is survived by 1 son, Larry McCoy and his wife Dayna, of Bartlesville, OK; 1 daughter, Linda Bachman and her husband, Leonard, of Miami, OK; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce, OK. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the First Assembly of God Church, Commerce, OK. Pastor Howie Moss will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Prather, Matt McCoy, Del Shouse, Ralph Mullin, Harvey Bodey, and Tom Gilbert. Interment at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK. The body will lie in state at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until Thursday morning.
