Donna Lee Raus' Obituary
Donna Lee (Swango) Raus went to be with her Lord on April 25, 2022, after a short illness. She was born on July 4, 1933, in Welch, OK to Mae (Thomas) Willis and Claude Willis. Donna attended Welch Schools and graduated in 1951. She was Valedictorian of her Senior Class and, after graduation, she attended Business College. She worked for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK as a secretary, until returning to Welch in the late 50's to work for Atlas Telephone Co. She worked for 50 years at Atlas Telephone Co., as a switchboard operator in the late 50's and early 60's, and later, as office manager. She witnessed extraordinary advances in telephone communication and always enjoyed visiting with the many customers who came into the office.
Survivors include, Daughters: Carol (Swango) Webb of Big Cabin, Susan (Swango) Woolman of Vinita and son-in-law, Ron Singleton of Grand Lake, a brother, Buck Willis and wife Camelia of Vinita. Grandchildren: Kelli (Beaty) Biggs and husband Shannon of Welch, Mark Chamberlain and wife Brandi of Big Cabin, Amy Chamberlain and Dan Swadley, of Miami, Cristin (Ayres) Bible and husband Brad of Vinita, Cory Ayres and wife Lacey of Big Cabin, Amanda Woolman and fiancé Greg Maple of Vinita, Tiffany (Woolman) Neill of OKC, Jackie (Webb) Auberg and husband Erik and Benjamin Webb and fiancé Mariah Adkins, all of Guthrie.
Great-grandchildren: Morgan Cook, Bryndl Biggs, Nash Chamberlain and wife Lauren, Kamry Chamberlain and fiancé Adrion Lindsey, Rylee (Munson) Buzzard and husband Michael, Lucas Sizemore, Shelby Bynum, Faith Swart, Gauge Poe, Tom Oliver, Shae Oliver, Nathan Neill, Peyton Ayres, Trenton Bible, Harper Bible and Amelia Auberg.
Great-great grandchildren: Paeslee (Munson) Buzzard, Noah Buzzard, Callan Buzzard and Leila Lindsey.
Donna was preceded in death by the father of her daughters, Andrew Lee (Buddy) Swango; mother, Mae Fugate; daughter, Janice (Swango) Singleton; grandson, Dustin Taylor and son-in-law, Roy Woolman.
She was a lifelong member of the Welch Christian Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Williams Timber Hill Cemetery.
