Don Howard Bullard's Obituary
Don Howard Bullard, 88, of rural Welch, OK, passed away Thursday, December the 5th, 2024, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO, after a period of declining health.
He was born July the 25, 1936 in rural Welch to Charles and Leila (Mooney) Bullard. He was a graduate of Welch High School. He proudly and bravely served his country in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Don worked in the coal mines for several years. He later became an independent truck driver, running coast to coast across the United States. He also was a long time farmer and he took pride in his land. He loved to hunt and pick up pecans in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Rocky Bullard and Leona White.
He is survived by his wife, Carrol; five children, Cindy Harris and husband Steve of rural Welch, Aaron Bullard and wife Sabra of Pilot Point, TX, John Bullard of Miami, Scott Bullard and Paula of rural Welch, and Cherrie Fry and husband Richard of Miami; four siblings, Ann Walker of Bluejacket, Francis Wallace of Vinita, Tom Bullard of Fayette, AL, and Randy Bullard of Joplin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December the 11th at the Thomas and Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December the 12th, also at the funeral home.
