Dewey Carroll Sexton's Obituary
Dewey Carroll Sexton, 74, of rural Welch, Okla., passed away Thursday evening, April 1, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, after an illness.
He was born June 19, 1946 in Childress, TX to Porter and Elizabeth (Clark) Sexton. After graduating high school, he attended college. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 years.
He worked in the concrete business for many years, pouring foundations for new homes. He also worked as a locksmith. He enjoyed making jewelry, locksmithing, gardening, cooking, and gospel music. He found his greatest satisfaction in being a Special Olympic's coach.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Aulcie Sexton; his parents; and a stepson, Ricky Eisenman.
He is survived by four children, Michael Sexton of Miami, OK; Marianne Sexton-Green of Miami, OK, JoEllen Steedman of Welch, OK, and Vicki Smelley of Cushing, TX; two sisters, Ann Ammons and Neda Norwood; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Mike Anderson of Green River, WY.
There will be a family Celebration of Life at a later date.
