Denzil Dale Corn's Obituary
Denzil Dale Corn, of Miami, Okla., passed away Thursday, August 18th, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 90 years old.
He was born June 28th, 1932 in Welch to James Corn and Lela (McNelis) Corn. He graduated high school and then attended NEO A&M College where he earned an Associate Degree in Agriculture.
On December 5th, 1959, he married the former Sue Hawkins in a ceremony in Miami. He served his country in the United States Army for 4 years. He then served in the Army Reserve for 39 ½ years.
He worked as a mail carrier in Miami for 28 years. He attended Northwest Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 147 and the Disabled American Veterans. Raising cattle was his passion and he and Sue ran a cattle operation for many years on their land west of Miami.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Arthur and Onie Corn, Naomi Arnold, Anna Arnold, and Bessie Cavanaugh.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; two sons, Stan Corn of Welch and Brad Corn and wife Karyn of Moore, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Whitney Corn of Dallas, TX, and Kelsay Corn of Moore.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 21st, from 2-3 p.m. at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Chaplain Cerita Tweed will officiate. Burial will follow in Williams Timber Hill Cemetery, east of Welch. Casket bearers will be Tommy Rupert, Scott Rupert, Lonnie Schnakenberg, Robert Triece, Billy Hall, and Ronnie Cook.
