Delton Dean Windhorst's Obituary
Mr. Delton D. Windhorst passed away Sunday November 23, 2008 in North Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 75 years. Delton was born October 13, 1933 in Syracuse Nebraska to his parents Louis and Ida Lohmier Windhorst. Delton grew up and attended school in Chillicothe, Mo until high school age and then took a job in Kansas City where he has resided for over 40 years. Delton retired from General Motors as a forklift mechanic in 1997. In 1954 Delton took Miss Geraldine Parrish as his bride. Delton has resided in Miami, Oklahoma for the past 3 years.
Delton had many hobbies such as fishing and working on motors of any type. But he was best known as a jokester. He enjoyed making people laugh and was a very selfless individual. He was always taking care of other people and putting their needs before his own.
Delton is survived by 2 Daughters: Connie and husband Larry Wenger of Kansas City, Mo., Dayna and husband Terry Pryor of Wyndotte, Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a circle of childhood buddies for over 60 years, and a dear special friend Judy Waterman.
Delton is preceded in death by his mother and father: Ida and Louis Windhorst, Wife: Jeri Windhorst, 1 Sister: Vera Schmidt, 1 Daughter: Judy Turley, 1 grandchild, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers include: Mark Wyland, Terry Wyland, Jason Arnold, Gary Bateman, Bud Corberly and Joe Counts.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday morning November 26, 2008 at First Christian Church of Miami, Oklahoma with Pastor Leon Weece officiating. Interment will follow at Wyandotte Indian Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.
