Deloras F. "Sis" James' Obituary
Deloras F. "Sis" James, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016 at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac, KS, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Deloras was born April 29, 1932 in the Timberhill area, west of Bluejacket, OK, to Clyde Fugate and Cleora (Weddle) Fugate. She graduated from Bluejacket High School with the Class of 1950. On May 24, 1950, she married the love of her life, Winford James, on Timberhill. Together, Deloras and Winford owned and operated the Hitchin Post restaurant in Welch, OK. They then ventured to Pittsburg, KS where they owned and operated the Bonanza restaurant for many years. She loved her family dearly and spending time with them was her greatest joy. She also loved fishing, water sports, and crafts. She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Clint James; a daughter in law, Kay Ann James; and four brothers, Laval, Jerry, Norman, and Paul. She is survived by her husband, Winford James, of the home; one daughter, Sandra Brant and husband Lane of Pittsburg, KS; two sons, Jesse James of Katy, TX, and Michael James and wife Bonnie of Tyro, KS; 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, along with a host of friends. A memorial service honoring the memory of Deloras will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, OK on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Wayne Mason will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harry Hynes Hospice, 3 Medical Center Circle, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
