Daniel Fred Wilkins' Obituary
Daniel F. Wilkins, of Welch, Okla., passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, after a sudden illness. He was 72 years old. He was married to the former Loretta Clogston. Daniel was born February 27, 1944 in Spring City, Missouri to Otis Wilkins and Kathryn (Smith) Wilkins. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving two tours during wartime in Vietnam. After leaving the military, he worked in the roofing and concrete business. His wife, children, and grandchildren were so important to him. He enjoyed flea markets and visiting with the people there. He was well known around town for always being in his yard, waving and everyone that drove by, and visiting with anyone that would stop by for a few minutes. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jared Erickson; and two brothers, Kenneth and Oliver Wilkins. Daniel is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home in Welch; one son, Kenneth Luke Wilkins, of Seneca, Missouri; five daughters, LaVonda Shears of Bluejacket, Okla., LaDora Erickson of Goodman, Missouri, Andrea Morelli of Welch, Jessica Wilkins of Wyandotte, Okla., and Katlyn Madsen and husband Alex of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie and Roger Wilkins, both of Joplin, Missouri; and one sister, Rebecca Wilkins of Alba, Missouri. At Daniel's request, no services will be held.
