Dale Lee Dorsey, Sr.'s Obituary
Dale Lee Dorsey, Sr., of Muldrow, OK, formerly of Welch, passed away early Monday morning, December the 16th. 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Kansas on November the 6th, 1954, to James Howard Dorsey and Wanda (McKinney) Dorsey. He was a high school graduate, marrying the love of his life, the former Deanna Hughes, on January the 10th, 1976. They made their home northeast of Welch where they raised their family.
He was an over the road truck driver for over 20 years. After retiring from truck driving, he enjoyed working on his farm and doing custom hay baling in the summertime. He was a longtime member of the Gateway Assembly of God Fellowship Church in Welch.
He was preceded in death by his wife on October the 6th, 2001; as well as his father.
Those surviving to mourn his loss include his children, Lee Dorsey and wife Amy of Muldrow, OK, John Dorsey and wife Christina of Welch, and Katie Nair and husband Michael of Welch; his mother, Wanda Dorsey of Welch; four siblings, Ray and Tony Dorsey, Cindy Smiley, and Sandra Grue; his ten grandchildren, Cauy, Brighton, Cord, Kyndall, and Aiden Dorsey, and Anna, Hali, Macy, Gavyn, and Bryle Nair; nine nephews and nieces; and his beloved fur baby, Mattie Mae.
The family will hold a time for friends and family to gather to remember Dale. It will be held Saturday morning, January the 4th, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch.
