Clinton R. Foster's Obituary
Clinton R. Foster, 80, of rural Welch, Okla., passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was born November 22, 1936 in South Coffeyville, Okla. to James Foster and Susan (Hagerman) Foster. After high school he proudly served his country with the United States Army. On November 9, 1958, Clinton married Laura B. Reeder in Chelsea, OK. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2012. Clinton worked for over 30 years for Cessna before retiring. He then began ranching and farming full time. It was a job he dearly loved. On August 31, 2013, he married Mauriene Dea (Smith) Pierce. The couple made their home in rural Welch. Clinton stayed active on his farm until ill health forced him to relax, which was difficult for a workaholic like him. He was always willing to give a helping hand to those in the surrounding community. Clinton enjoyed the outdoors and loved his cows and fishing. He also loved his church family at Maybelle Baptist Church where he was a long time member. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Laura, 5 siblings, and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Dea; one daughter, Diana Lynn Hankins of Welch, Okla.; 5 step-children, Tina Tullis of Greeley, Colo., Mike Tullis and Ken Tullis of Derby, Kans., Gary Tullis of Welch, Okla., and Barry Tullis of Oswego, Kans.; one brother, Loyd Foster of Chelsea, Okla.; and 5 sisters, Gladys Weber of Tulsa, Okla., Opal Frazier of Miami, Okla., Nellie Potts of Miami, Okla., Lois Burns of Tulsa, Okla., and Betty McDonald of San Luis Obispo, Calif. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Services will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016. Pastor Lindy Leforce will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the GAR Cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers will be Gary, Barry, Mike, Ken, John Michael, and Cody Tullis. Honorary pallbearers will be David, Tom, and Tony Humbolt, Andrew Cooksey, and Ernie Tullis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Integris Hospice.
