Claudia Beatrice Trinkle's Obituary
Claudia Beatrice Trinkle, 97, of Northport, Alabama, passed away March 16, 2019 at Hunter Creek Health and Rehab in Northport. She was born June 18, 1921 in Shawnee, Okla. to Thomas Madison Alonzo Vandever and Lillie Mae (Dunn) Vandever.
She became the bride of Dave Trinkle, and they shared their love for one another until his passing in February of 1992. At a young age, she gave her life to the Lord at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Commerce, OK. She was an avid quilter. Her life was one of giving. At Christmas time for many, many years, she would make 500 peanut butter balls to share with others. She was a member of the Northwood Hills Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL.
At the end of World War II, she worked at Patterson's in Miami, H.D. Lee's in Chetopa, and Burlington's in Miami.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave; four brothers, Nathan, John, Ezra, and Clyde Vandever; two sisters, Bertha Prochka, and Opal Brown.
She is survived by a daughter, Twila Coger of Miami, OK; a brother, William Vandever of Ft. Towson, OK; a sister Verna Crow of Moore, OK; two grandchildren, Chuck Coger and wife Danielle of Robert Lee, TX, and Tom Coger and wife Danita of Northport, AL; and six great grandchildren, Klayton Coger, Kayla Coger, Kyler Coger, Gage Coger, Maddison Coger, and Mia Sanford-Coger.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Welch. A graveside service will follow at 12:45 at the Oakhill Cemetery in Chetopa, KS. Her pastor for many years, Ed McFall, will officiate. Klayton, Gage, and Kyler Coger, Paul Trinkle, and Doug and Gary Pruitt will serve as casket bearers.
