Christopher Dale Pugh's Obituary
Christopher Dale Pugh, 43, a resident of Miami passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. He was born on May 1, 1979 to Charles Dale and Rhonda Sue (Newkirk) Pugh. Christopher graduated in the Class of 1997 from Wyandotte High School. After graduation, he attended NEO A & M College. Chris was an avid Wyandotte Bears Fan – he was a “Bear” and will always be a “Bear.” He also loved sports of all kinds including, all Sooners Sports, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed photography and loved his Tahoe but above all he loved his nephews. They were very special to him. He considered them “his kids.” Chris was a member of First Baptist Church, Miami. Christopher was preceded in passing by his dad Charles Dale Pugh, his brother Kyle Pugh, his niece Gracie Marie Pugh, his maternal grandmother Barbara Newkirk, and paternal grandparents Delmar and Mary Pugh.
He is survived by his mother Rhonda Sue Merrill and step-father Mark Merrill, his nephews Clayton Pugh and Jarrett Pugh, his grandfather Cloyce Newkirk, his step-sister Synthia Merrill Small, his step-brother Mark Merrill Jr., his aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many dear friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Chris’ Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Bearskin Gymnasium in Wyandotte with Reverend Mike Mayfield leading the service. Interment will follow at Williams Timberhill Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Casketbearers will be Clayton Pugh, Jarrett Pugh, Brandon Clapp, Levi Convirs, Nathan McCullum, Toby McCullum, Charlie McQuigg, Kayla McQuigg, Daphne Robitaille, Heather Herring, TJ Branam, Kendall Young, Chase Russell and Brady Rogers.
