Cheryl Joyce Murphy's Obituary
Cheryl Joyce Murphy, 76, formerly of the Bartlett, KS area, passed away Sunday afternoon, June the 23rd, 2024, in Miami, OK, after a long illness.
She was born to Charles and Freda (Fritz) Judy on August 26th, 1947, in Hulbert, OK. She graduated with the Miami High School Class of 1965. From there, she attended NEO A&M College, Oklahoma State University, and Panhandle State. She attained an Associate Degree and her Registered Nurse license.
She worked 22 years as an RN at Coffeyville Medical Center in Coffeyville, KS. In her free time, she found great joy in her horses. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was member of the Bartlett Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Murphy, and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Shawn Biggs of Tonganoxie, KS, Shannon Biggs and wife Kelli of Welch, OK, and Tres Biggs and wife Heather of South Coffeyville, OK; one brother, Gerald "Buddy" Judy of Huntsville, AL; nine grandchildren, Logan Johnson and wife Caitlyn, Lane Biggs, Aubrey Biggs, Avinley Biggs, Morgan Jones and husband Greg, Bryndl Biggs, Tyler Biggs, Grace Biggs, and Clayton Biggs; one great grandchild, Emerie Johnson; and three nieces and nephews, Francesca, Patrick, and Jerad.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday, June the 28th, 2024, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Following the visitation, a funeral procession will proceed to the Williams Timberhill Cemetery for a graveside service. Pastor Geoff Buffalo will officiate. Casket bearers will be Logan Johnson, Lane Biggs, Zack Shaw, Ty Davenport, Chris Chenoweth, and Chad Teal. Tyler Biggs and Clayton Biggs will serve as honorary casket bearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Williams Timberhill Cemetery Association, or to the Alzheimers Association, both c/o Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home P.O. Box 231 Welch, OK 74369.
