Charles Richard Moss, Jr.'s Obituary
Charles R. Moss, Jr., 59, of Bluejacket, OK, passed away November 10, 2014 at his home, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. He was born December 16, 1954 in Welch, OK to Charles Richard and Lois (Spotts) Moss. He married the love of his life, Rhonda Rogers on September 23, 1972 in Bluejacket. She survives the home. Charles proudly served his country with the United States Army. During his service he worked as a Vehicle Mechanic and was noted as a Sharpshooter. He served overseas in Germany from December of 1975 until December of 1977 and was honorably discharged from service in August of 1979. After returning home, he worked in the coal mines. He later took a job as Security for Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, where he worked for 20 years, before retiring. He finished up his retirement while working for Brakefield Equipment as a Dozer Operator for over 10 years. Charles loved life, and enjoyed auctions, visiting friends, and just "loafin" with family. He was a hard working - loving - devoted man of God. He wanted God to have all the Glory in all he said and did as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend. We all were so blessed to have him in our life these 59 years. Charles was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and 2 grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rhonda; his mother, Lois, of Bluejacket; 2 sons, Jesse Moss and his wife Evona, of Commerce, and James Moss of Pawhuska; 2 daughters, Amy Weiser and husband Dan, and Angela Brust, all of Bluejacket; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David Moss and wife Janet, Jim Moss and wife Janene, all of Rural Welch; 3 sisters, Shirley Vail and Husband Robert, of Rural Welch, Tammy Walls and husband Charley, of Welch, and Sheila Cook, of Commerce; many many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Timberhill Baptist Church. Rev. Shane Culp will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be Paul Hours, Kip Marquis, Larry Couch, Bryant Vail, Kelby, David, and Cody Moss. Interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, West of Four Corners.
