Cetha Rosalie Taylor's Obituary
Cetha Rosalie Taylor, 95, of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. She was born on January 3, 1914 in Lannius, Texas, daughter of the late William Lawrence and Cetha Rosalie Wade.
Rosalie was a homemaker, a faithful Christian and a real sweet southern lady. She was married to Bill, the love of her life for fifty-three and ½ years, they were married on July 25, 1929 in Locksburg, Arkansas. Rosalie was a master cook and especially a pie maker. She crocheted afghans for all of her family and friends and was an avid quilter. She lived in Southwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma, Port Tobacco, and Maryland with her daughter, Rachel and then for fifteen years in Plattsburgh, NY with her daughter, Ruth. Rosalie resided in the Samuel F. Vilas Home and Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. Rosalie is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Ruth Clackler and her husband, John of Plattsburgh, NY, Rachel DeHanas an her husband, Jack of Port Tobacco, Maryland and Marco Island, Florida, seven grandchildren, Michael Murphy and his wife , Janice of Sylvia, Kansas, Don DeHanas and his wife, Donna of Laplata, Maryland, David DeHanas and his wife, April, of Port Tobacco, Maryland, Douglas DeHanas of Key West, Florida, Darryl DeHanas and his wife, Cathy of Laplata, Maryland, Drew Clackler of Plattsburgh, NY, Julie Clackler of Mobile, Alabama, eight great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law, Sam and Peggy Wade of Bonham, Texas, a sister, Grace Booker of Sequim, Washington, a sister in law, Rachel Wade of Orange, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was pre-deceased by her husband, James William “Bill” Taylor on December 31, 1982. Rosalie was the middle of eleven children, she was pre-deceased by Barney Wade, Emma Nelson, Lawrence Wade, Sylvia Lovelady, Finis Wade, Betty Jean Wade, Beulah Wade and Louis Wade.
Local arrangements were entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, New York.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday March 14, 2009 at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Bobby Key officiating. Interment will follow the service at GAR Cemetery.
No formal visitation will be held. Services are under the care and direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.
