Calvin Roy Brady's Obituary
Welch, Oklahoma Farmer and Rancher, Calvin Roy Brady, 71, passed away Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012 at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born June 29, 1941 in Welch, Oklahoma to Aubrey C. and Antje (Tullis) Brady. He was a graduate of Welch High School, Class of 1959. On December 13, 1975, he married Betty Lou Blundell. The couple made their home on a ranch north of Welch where they enjoyed farming. Calvin was an avid hunter and a talented wood worker. He enjoyed camping and boating on Grand Lake with family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chetopa. He was preceded in death by his father; and 1 daughter, Michelle. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Betty; his mother, Antje Brady; 1 son, Mike Brady of Welch, OK; 4 daughters, Terri Shaffar of Grove, OK; Tracy Brannin of Oswego, KS; Trudi Chaney of Watonga, OK, and Treva Nading of Owasso, OK; 2 sisters, Barbara Coons of Spring, TX, and Phyllis Ashcraft of Montgomery, TX; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Chetopa, KS. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Chetopa, KS. Pastor Clarence Newman will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be VO Morgan, Kevin Smith, Buster Ingram, Kenny Wallace, Shane Rice, and Roscoe Bassett. Honorary pallbearers will be Leland Mayfield, Harlan Smith, George Ahrens, Ernie Tullis, Dale Tullis, Mike Brady, and Justin Nading. Interment at Oakhill Cemetery, Chetopa, Kansas.
