Bonnie Jean Hinman's Obituary
Bonnie J. Hinman, 79 years old, passed from this earth and joined her Heavenly Father on February 25, 2013 in Joplin, Missouri. She was born in Picher, Oklahoma to Oscar and Jessie (Picket) Speer and was the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, parents, five brothers; Carl, Harry, Jack, Uri, Billy and her sister Fay (Lynch).
Bonnie grew up in Columbus, Kansas. She met her husband Bob in Norton, Kansas while working at
Norton Sanitarium Hospital. They were married for 56 years. Bonnie worked for years in retail after their last child started school, but her true passion was working with the elderly. She was employed by Ottawa County Nutrition as the Commerce site manager for nearly 20 years serving elderly members of her community.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her four children, two daughters; Pamela (Tom) Austin, Becky (Bobby Joe) Gideon, two sons; Robert D. (Glenda) Hinman, and Dan W. (Shirley) Hinman; nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Bonnie loved her family, picnics, working in the yard, music, and chocolate. She enjoyed church and loves her Lord. We loved Mom for her caring nature, and for the love she shared with her husband and family.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Brown –Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Miami, Oklahoma on Thursday Feb 28, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on March 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Brown – Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 5 B Street Northwest Miami, Oklahoma with pastor Mike Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas.
