Bobby J. Rudd's Obituary
Former Chetopa, KS resident, Bobby J. Rudd, 85, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 17, 1928 in Craig County, OK to O.W. and Mary Virginia (Meek) Rudd. He attended Iron Post and Welch Schools as a young boy. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from December 7, 1952 to November 28, 1956. He was the husband of Norma J. (Johnson) Rudd. The couple had made their home in Chetopa where they were active in the community and church. Norma preceded Bob in death on February 6, 2013. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed shooting clay birds as well as hunting with his buddies. Due to ill health, he recently moved to Winfield, Kansas where he resided at the Kansas Veteran's Home. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister. He is survived by 1 son, Robert Joe Rudd of Fredonia, KS; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew, Bill Miller of Wilburton; and a host of friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, KS. Rev. Randy Frazier will officiate. Interment following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Bible Church, P.O. Box 274, Chetopa, KS 67336.
