Bobby Ray Mahurin's Obituary
Bobby Ray Mahurin, 88, a long time area John Deere Tractor mechanic passed away at his home on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1936 in Fairland, Oklahoma in the home he was living in currently to Ray and Audra (Hunter) Mahurin. Bob worked as a mechanic for many many years for John Deere and Alice Chalmers. He retired in 1985, but would often find friends and neighbors in the driveway or barn looking for help with their tractors and farm equipment. Bob was Cowboy, he enjoyed raising cattle and working his farm. He enjoyed some fishing and coon hunting and quail hunting in his free time. Bob was preceded in passing by his parents Ray and Audra, his brother Kenney Mahurin, sister Betty Snow, a brother in law Tom Wagoner and son Brian Mahurin.
Those to share Bobby’s memories are his wife of sixty-nine years Opal (Bennett) Mahurin, his children Tony Mahurin and his wife Linda, Tim Mahurin and his wife Suzanne, Debbie Harris and her husband Brian, Randy Mahurin and his wife Donnie his siblings, Anita Wagoner, Art Mahurin, Shirley Willmoth, Richard Mahurin and Melvin Mahurin, his twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Bob was also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Graveside services for Bob will be on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Deacon Bruce Magness and Reverend Andy Krebs officiating. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
