Bob B Wholf's Obituary
Bob B. Wholf, 73, of Miami, OK, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO, after an illness. He was born May 28, 1943 in Vinita, OK to Robert and Dana (Smith) Wholf. He was a graduate of Vinita High School, Class of 1961. He continued his education by taking several courses through Oklahoma State University. Bob was a very gifted teacher; believing in his students and expecting only the best from them. He taught Auto Body for Commerce High School from 1972-1977, and then was the auto body instructor for Vo-Tech in Afton from 1977-1998. He was an active member of First Christian Church in Miami. He enjoyed reading and western movies. His greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren, his two dogs, and building model trains in which he devoted an entire room to. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by 2 daughters, Shannon Smith and husband Shane, and Melinda Lewis and husband Eric, all of Miami; 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Levi Smith of Miami, Adelyn Lewis of Miami, and Lauren Jones of TX; 2 step children, Stephanie Jones and husband Tom of Friendswood, TX and Sherri Wright of Cleora, OK; 1 sister, Linda Hines of Lamar, MO; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Miami. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Miami. Dr. Brian Brubaker will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be Shane and Levi Smith, Eric Lewis, John Crawford, Ken Hines, and Don Teal. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, OK. The body will lie in state at Paul Thomas Chapel in Miami until visitation time on Tuesday.
