Billy Leon Osborn's Obituary
Billy Leon Osborn, 66, a lifelong resident of Bluejacket, Okla., passed away December 3, 2018 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 28, 1952 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to Clarence Aden Osborn and Opal (Hancox) Osborn. He was a high school graduate. On May 20, 1983, he married Florence Engle in a ceremony at the First Christian Church in Vinita. He worked many years for Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He then became an insurance agent with Farm Bureau. He was a charter member of Cornerstone Faith Mission. He loved working for the Lord. His passion was playing chess, fishing, hunting, baseball, and softball. When his health forced him to slow down, he took up the sport of playing pool. He played on various leagues in Langley, Vinita, and the surrounding area. His favorite places to play were with the 4 State Senior Pool, and the Vinita Senior Citizens. Leon was his own unique person who loved and enjoyed his family. He is survived by his wife, Florence, of the home; 5 daughters, Carol Simpson of Bluejacket, Crystal Rexwinkle and husband Ryan of Welch, Brandy Osborn Carlson and husband Clarence of Wesley, Iowa, Julie Satterwhite and husband David of Vinita, and Amanda Mullin and husband Larry of Vinita; 2 brothers, Clarence Osborn, Jr. of Bluejacket, and Ronnie Osborn of Kirbyville, TX; 2 sisters, Laneita Chamberlain of Bluejacket, and Donna Fowler of Sand Springs; 8 grandchildren Jason, Baylie, Bethany, Harley, Shannon, Gracee, Kordell, and Hunter; 4 great grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathon, Isaiah, and Luke; and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Laveita Ogden.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Cornerstone Faith Mission with Pastor Carroll Hopkins officiating. The family with greet friends starting at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Bluejacket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cornerstone Faith Mission Youth Activity/Camp Fund c/o Thomas Funeral Home P.O. Box 231 Welch, OK 74369.Casket Bearers will be Ryan Rexwinkle, Clarence Carlson, David Satterwhite, Pete Osborn, Larry Mullin, and Jason Satterwhite.
