Bill Owen Barks' Obituary
Bill Owen Barks, 89, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away late Sunday evening, January 10, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, after a sudden illness.
He was born November 5, 1931 in Welch, Oklahoma to Miles Matthew Barks and Rachel Delcenia (Anderson) Barks. He was a high school graduate who continued his education by earning his Bachelor's Degree.
In January of 1991, he married Phyllis Irene Benson. They made their home in northwest Jasper County, Missouri. Bill loved music and playing his mandolin. He was a self-employed salesman, mostly in the mobile home industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Kayleen Barks.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, of the home; two step-sons, Keith Wyatt and wife Shirley, and Craig Wyatt, all residing in the State of Arizona.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at the Walker Cemetery, northwest of Welch.
