Betty Sue Sutton's Obituary
Betty Sue Sutton of Miami, OK took her final breaths of this life on Monday, March 06, 2017. She passed at the home of her youngest daughter, Kriss Morgan, with family by her side. She was 90.
Betty was born July 16, 1926 in Pryor, OK to James Allen and Margaret (Carter) Giles. She graduated from Vinita High School in 1944 before becoming a lifelong Miami resident. Betty married Kenneth Ralph Sutton on June 1, 1947. They raised four children, Kenneth “Butch” Sutton, Jr., Margie (Sutton) Ross, Kriss (Sutton) Morgan, and Keith Sutton, in their home on “K” Street SE in Miami. She worked at Glenn Berry’s and Eagle Picher. She was also an avid Avon Independent Sales Representative. She was well-known for her gentle, kind, and patient spirit. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sutton on September 7, 1989, her son, Butch Sutton, on Dec. 24, 2008, her parents, her brother, Sonny Giles, and her sisters, Mary Jane (Giles) Wainscott and Patsy (Giles) Collins.
Survivors include her daughters, Margie and her husband Roy Ross, Kriss and her husband Joe Dan Morgan, her son Keith and his wife Ruth Sutton, all of Miami, a daughter-in-law Teresa Sutton. Additional survivors include her brother, Roy Dean Giles of Newcastle OK, a brother-in-law, Harold Collins of Vinita, OK, and a sister-in-law, Marie Giles of Texas City, TX. Betty was extremely proud of her ten grandchildren and their spouses, which she considered her own grandchildren: Chad Ross and his wife Mandy, Kenna (Sutton) Gander and her husband Derek, Tami (Morgan) Lowery and her husband Michael, Ginger Sutton, Mandi (Morgan) Baker and her husband Dustin, Cyndee (Ross) LeFay and her husband Matt, Jacob Sutton and his wife Annie, Jessica Sutton, Charisse (Sutton) Soriano and her husband Alberto, Joe Dale Morgan and his wife Holly. Her eleven great-grandchildren were such a delight to her in the later years: Seth, Mason, Joseph, and Caleb Lowery; Mia Ross; Briggs and Bailey Gander; Cyree and Mickee LeFay; Elijah Soriano with Baby Girl Soriano due in August, and Karsten Morgan.
Funeral services will be at 10 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Friend’s Church in Miami with Casey Davison officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and spouses of granddaughters: Chad Ross, Jacob Sutton, Joe Dale Morgan, Derek Gander, Michael Lowery, Dustin Baker, Matt LeFay, and Alberto Soriano. Interment will be in Ottawa Indian Cemetery east of Miami.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Tuesday evening at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home in Miami.
