Betty D. Lovelace's Obituary
Betty D. Lovelace, 91, a longtime resident of Welch, Okla., passed away Friday, September 20, 2019. She was born September 15, 1928, in Picher, Okla. to Odessa Thompson and Laura (Woods) Thompson. She was a 1947 graduate of Picher High School.
On August 26, 1950, she married Delbert Lovelace in a ceremony in Joplin, MO. In 1957, she and Delbert moved to Welch where they raised their family. She worked for the Welch Public Schools for 15 years, while Delbert served as Superintendent of Schools. She was a member of the Welch Garden Club for over 50 years. She was a member of the Welch Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert, on June 7, 2011; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Lovelace of Grove, and David Lovelace and wife Terri of Miami; a sister, Wanda Armstrong of Miami; three grandchildren, Brian, Mike, and Mason Lovelace; four great grandchildren, Blake, Morgan, Hanna, and Taylor Lovelace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty's service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Welch Baptist Church. Pastor Ralph Heiney will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to Delbert in the Welch Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Brian, Mike, and Mason Lovelace, Kyle Armstrong, Ricky Thompson, Lloyd Stone, Nathan and Joel Barnes.
