Betty Ann Chenoweth's Obituary
Betty Ann Chenoweth, 94, a lifelong resident of rural Welch, OK, passed away Sunday evening, April the 13th, 2025, after a long period of declining health.
She was born August the 10th, 1930, in Welch to John Samuel Pierce and Anna Agnes (Garde) Pierce. She was a graduate of Welch High School. On December the 24th, 1952, she married Donald Lee Chenoweth in a ceremony in Miami, OK.
Betty worked many years as a seamstress for the garment factories in Chetopa and Owsego, KS. She loved sewing, embroidery, cooking, baking, fishing, and most of all, her children and grandchildren's sports. She was a longtime, faithful member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Welch.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; four children, Bonita Howe, Tom Chenoweth, Tracy Rozanne Chenoweth, and Angela Ann Chenoweth; two grandsons, Sam Beaty and Seth Chenoweth; son in law, Ronnie Beaty; seven siblings, Agnes, Marie, Maxine, John, Jerry, Joe, and Jim.
She is survived by five children, Don Paul and wife Tammy, Wendy Beaty, Mike and wife Jana, Rod, and Eric and wife Kristal, all of Welch; a brother, Sammy Pierce of Belleville, TX; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April the 15th, with visitation following until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April the 16th, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Welch with Reverends Samuel Perez and James Ferry conducting the service.
Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Welch Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
