Bertha Marie Dunn's Obituary
Bertha Marie Dunn, 81, of Chetopa, KS, passed away at Mercy Joplin on Tuesday, February the 4th, 2025, after a period of declining health.
She was born December the 19th, 1943, in Vinita, OK to Asa and Alice (Worley) Pease. On July the 3rd, 1962, she married Donald Dunn in a marriage ceremony in Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on October the 2nd, 2021.
Bertha was hard working woman. She worked many years for Conard's Pecans in Chetopa, Diamond Coach in Oswego, and Grandview Cabinets in Parsons. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and rabbit hunting with her husband, often bragging because she was a better shot than he was.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a grandson, Dewayne Dunn; and seven siblings.
She is survived by three children, Brenda Adler and husband Jimmy of Chetopa, Barbara Tirrell and husband Charles of Chetopa, and Buddy Dunn and wife (Cheryl) of Leavenworth, KS; two siblings, Louise Ross of Wichita, KS, and Thomas Pease of Welch, OK; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, February the 8th, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Graveside services will be held at Oakhill Cemetery in Chetopa at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February the 10th. Pastor Randy Frazier will officiate.
Casket bearers will be Kyle Goff, Scott Dunn, and Kevin, Kris, Kody, and Robert Vanderpool. Honorary casket bearers will be Charles Tirrell, Jimmy Adler, Kent Vanderpool, and Buddy Dunn.
