Benny Joe Haynes' Obituary
Benny Joe Haynes, 67 year old Afton, OK, resident passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home.
Benny was born on March 15, 1951 in Norman, OK, to Benard and Laura Maxine (Estridge) Haynes. He attended school in Afton, Oklahoma. Benny married Janet (Monk) on December 26, 1974, in Bentonville, AR. Benny was a plant manager for a sewing factory. He also served in the Oklahoma National Guard for 8 years. Benny loved fishing, whether it was bass fishing or spoon billing. He also loved music. And was an avid guitar player. He was a member of the Kansas City Steel Guitar Association and played all over the four state area.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Benard and Laura Haynes.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Haynes of the home; one son, Benny Joe Haynes II and wife June, of Webb City, MO; two daughters, Marsha Hanger of Ponca City, OK and Melissa Haynes of Miami, OK; two brothers, Carl Haynes and wife Amelia of Fairland, OK and Bernard Haynes of Gladewater, TX; 9 grandchildren, Dusty Mitchell, Libby Mitchell, CJ Hanger, Sierra Hanger, Calvin Haynes, Mia Dawn Wiethey, Leigha Haynes, Benny Wiethey, and Kimberlynn Hanger; and one great grandchild, Kysen Havens.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 2:00 pm, at Bernice Baptist Church, OK. Bro Dean Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Ballard Cemetery in Bernice, OK. Visitation to be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Brown – Winters Funeral Home in Afton, OK.
