Arlous Duff's Obituary
Arlous Nexola Duff was born on March 10, 1921 in Fairland, Oklahoma to Abraham Lincoln “Ham” Hopper and Ida Mae Stroud. She died March 8, 2019, two days before her 98th birthday.
In 1936 she married Everett Merl Taffner and had two sons; Everett “Sonny” Taffner” and Alfred Joe Taffner. They divorced in 1965 and Arlous moved to Oregon. She married James Isaac Duff in 1978 in Mountain View, Arkansas. They lived their remaining years in Afton, Oklahoma. They were well known for their beautiful garden they grew every year until Jim died in 2004.
Arlous had 18 brothers and sisters all who preceded her in death along with her parents, except for one sister.
Arlous is survived by 1 sister Virginia Spurgeon of Miami, Oklahoma; her son Everett “Sonny” Taffner and is wife Faye of Fairland, Oklahoma; Stepson Larry and wife Vickie Duff and step daughter Karen Snow of Afton, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild and many many other relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6-7 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton.
Funeral services for Arlous will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Grove. Serving as casket bearers will be Arlous’ grandsons and great grandsons. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton.
