Antje May Brady's Obituary
Antje May Brady, 103 years young, and longtime Chetopa, KS resident, passed away Sunday evening, October 11, 2015 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO, surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1912 in Carthage, MO to John Tullis and Rosalee (Peaver) Tullis. After graduating from high school, she became the loving wife of Aubrey "Orb" Brady. She worked as a secretary for Eastern State Hospital in Vinita for several years, before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and caring for her Moss Rose's. She was a member of the Chetopa Baptist Church. Antje was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, in May of 1961. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Calvin Brady; 1 grand-daughter, Michelle Brady; three brothers, Lloyd, Joe and Homer Tullis; and one sister, Florence Whitcomb. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Coons of Woodlands, TX and Phyllis Ashcraft and husband Paul of Montgomery, TX; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK. Services will be held at 9:30 Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK. Pastor Clarence Newman will officiate. Antje will be laid to rest next to her husband, Orb, in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK. Serving as casket bearers will be Shane Rice, Roscoe Bassett, Kenny Wallace, James Coulston, Layton Carter, and Kyle Bachman. Honorary casket bearers will be V.O. Morgan, Ernie Tullis, Dale Tullis, Bill Chaney, Kevin Smith, Mary Pat Smith, Brett Darnell, Justin Nading, and Mike Fitzpatrick.
