Adley C. Anderson's Obituary
Adley Charles (Red) Anderson of Miami, OK passed quietly into the presence of the Lord on October 30, 2015 in Joplin, MO after a brief illness. Born in America, OK in 1917, Red retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1979, and was a WWII veteran and also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp for three years during the Great Depression. He was in Europe when the war ended and came back home to Arkansas to meet his twins. Hearing there were jobs in Oklahoma, he came to Miami to apply at B.F. Goodrich. He started to work the next day, and soon his family followed. His wife, Delphine, passed away in 1998 after 59 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter, Marie Thomas of Miami, OK; his son, Charles Anderson of Fairland, OK; 3 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Red loved to fish, and was happiest at his Bernice cabin on Grand Lake. He was a long time member of the Fairland Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015, at GAR Cemetery in Miami. Pastor Andy Krebs will officiate. Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #147, Veteran's Funeral Detail.
