Charlie J. Pliler

Charles Junior Pliler, 82, of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, December 27,2010 at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born May 14, 1928 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, the son of James and Effie (Dowty) Pliler. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Charles was a retired truck driver and farmer, who loved nothing more than spending time with his friends and family. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of North Miami Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; four daughters Susan Graham and her husband, Terry, Carolyn Williams and her husband, Mike, both of Monkey Island, Oklahoma, Barbara Pliler-Meeks of Riverton, Kansas, and Mendy Pliler of Miami; five stepchildren, Dennis Reavis and his wife, Sherry, Mike Reavis and his wife, Darlene, both of Sapulpa,Oklahoma, Patricia Logan and her husband, Herb, Paula Reavis and Debbie Reavis, all of Miami, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and the best friends any man ever had, his beloved “Knights of the Round Table”, and his loving church family from North Miami Assembly. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Grace Pliler and Beulah Pliler, who died in infancy, Glow Willard, Edna Sharp and Gladys Butler; one brother, Noble Pliler; and a daughter, Joyce Kathleen Copeland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory and in further service to the Lord, to North Miami Assembly of God Church, c/o Reverend Jason Taylor, 710 Pine Street, PO Box 359, North Miami, Oklahoma 74358. Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the North Miami Assembly of God Church at 710 Pine Street in North Miami, Oklahoma, with Reverend Jason Taylor officiating. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many prayers and expressions of love and support by the family and friends in the past week, and to the staff of St. John’s Hospital in Joplin Missouri, for the extraordinary care and compassion he received.
