Thelma Lea Uto

September 2, 1941 - December 7, 2019

Thelma Lea Uto, 78, of Fairland passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Uto was born on September 2, 1941 in Kenwood, Oklahoma to Shade and Martha Laverne (Williams) Etchison. She worked as a food administrator at a retirement home and also as a waitress over the years. She was a dancer, loved to teach dance while they lived in the Kansas City area. She was a happy lady that smiled a lot and loved her kids and grandkids and going to all their sporting events. Mrs. Uto was preceded in passing by her parents Shade and Laverne, her husband Bobbie L. Uto, along with her brothers and sisters JD Etchison, Joe Etchison, Earl Wampler, Tommy Wampler, Cleo Etchison and Velma Walker. Survivors include her daughters Teri Goins and her husband Donnie of Fairland, Tammy Gonzales of Wichita, Pamela Uto of Fairland, her sister Sue Morris and her husband Tommy of Seneca, Missouri, her brothers Mickey Etchison of Vinita, Oklahoma and Blaine Wampler and his wife Carrol of Rogers, Arkansas, her grandchildren Jayde Uto, Seth Uto, Shyann Gonzales and her husband John Guillen-Hull and Mia Uto and her great grandson Max Uto. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland. Services are 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland with Pastor Truman Brady officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairland Cemetery.
