Sylvia Anne Hampton

November 21, 1948 - January 27, 2020

Sylvia Anne Hampton, 71, a resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Monday, January 27, 2020. Sylvia was born on November 21, 1948 in Port Arthur, Texas to Thomas Henry Hampton Sr. and Opal (Howard) Trawick. Ms. Hampton was a proud member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe. She attained her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Acorn State in Mississippi. She loved her work as a Registered Nurse. She was a very creative interior decorator and did upholstery. Ms. Hampton likes to crochet, sew, decorate, and watch her birds and reading books. She also enjoyed Jazz music and was a Dallas Cowboys fan, also enjoying her dog, Shelly, that she called puppy. She was also recently named the Senior Prom Queen for the Eastern Shawnee Tribe. She loved her children and her family, she will be missed and her memory will be carried on by many. Sylvia was preceded in passing by her parents three siblings Della Louise Jackson, Patricia Carol Jackson and Thomas Henry Hampton Jr., and two brothers in laws Wade C. Purvis Sr. and William Devine. Survivors include her children Anthony Ray Moore and his wife Cheryl of Montana, Opal Kathleen (Moore) Blanchard and her husband George Sr. of Seneca, Curtis Kevin Jones of Youngsville, Louisiana, Leslie Anne Hattten-Moore of Baltimore, Maryland, and Stacy Christine Hatten- Hampton of Queens, New York. Her grandchildren; Alexis Mackenzie Jones of Youngsville, Lawrence Scott Freed of Baltimore, Shayla Michelle Covington of Baltimore, Matthew Liam Mackie of Seneca and Camren Taylor Jackson of Queens, her brother and sisters, Jeff Douglas Jackson Sr. and his wife Carol Ann of Eunice, Louisiana, Lola Kathleen (Hampton) Purvis of Jena Louisiana and Margaret Jane (Hampton) Devine of Wyandotte, Oklahoma. Other survivors include her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church in Miami. Her service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at All Saints Episcopal Church with Reverend Kay Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, Indian Rites will be performed by George Blanchard Sr. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
