Michele Maureen Gaines, 77, a long time Fairland resident passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Integris Miami Hospital. She was born on September 19, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri to William Leonard “Pete” Cochrane and Jo Roach. She married Larry Gaines on June 18, 1970 in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors and just about any animal. She enjoyed raising baby animals and helping others. Family had been known to call her the animal whisperer. You were always welcome in her home and would always be fed. Mrs. Gaines was preceded in passing by her parents, a brother Steven Blass and a sister Kay Journeycake. Survivors include her husband of fifty years Larry Gaines of the home, her children John Gaines and his wife Shawna of Enid, Tawni Gaines of Grove, Wade Patterson and his wife Cheryl of Enid and Alisa Jackson and her husband Van of Grove, her grandchildren Reid Gaines, Rylee Gaines, Ty Stovall and his wife Courtney, Lacy Gaines, Kayci Jantz and her husband Chris and Kyler Patterson along with her great grandchildren Aric Stovall, Tyler Stovall, Ally Stovall and Makoy Jantz, other survivors include her great niece, Christy Wills And great nephew Mike Jackson . Graveside Services are 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Fairland Cemetery. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland. Casketbearers will be Ty Stovall, Reid Gaines, Kyler Patterson, Doug Journeycake, Chris Jantz and Denver Miller.
