Josiah V. Plemmons, 42, a longtime Miami resident passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Josiah was born on May 6, 1979 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Rick and Rae (Scott) Plemmons. He graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1997. Josiah worked construction over the years. He loved to build and fix things, tinkering was his thing. He did enjoy being outside and at the creek fishing or just playing. He loved the Lord and his family and friends. He was also a proud of his Native Heritage, him being a member of the Ottawa Tribe and Cherokee Nation. Survivors include his parents Rick and Rae Plemmons, two daughters Aubrey Plemmons of Miami and Alyvia Plemmons of Lubbock, Texas, a sister Stefani Green of Miami and a nephew Ethan Green. The family and friends will set with Josiah at the Ottawa Tribal Building Next to the Ottawa Cemetery starting Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 4:30 PM. Services for Josiah will be Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Ottawa Tribal Building at 2:00 PM with Reverend Adam Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery with Cap Ulrey providing Native American Rights. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
