Jerry W. Davis

February 1, 1939 - February 6, 2022

Jerry W. Davis, 83, a Miami resident, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born on February 1, 1939, in Miami, Oklahoma to Wayne and Mildred (Vandermark) Davis. Jerry joined the Air Force and received his GED during his service. He retired from Uniroyal-Goodrich Tire Co in Woodburn, Indiana in 1994. He enjoyed go-cart racing with his children, building circle burners and drag racing, later turning to swim dogs, running hounds and beagles in field trials with his great grandkids. He loved the Lord and his church and serving as usher and helping in any way he could. He was always ready to help others and handed out many Twenty-dollar bills. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Mildred (Vandermark) Davis, brother Melvin Lynn Davis, a previous wife Phyllis (Morton) Davis, a daughter Martha Dunderman, stepson Troy Morton, stepmother Bobbie Davis. He is survived by his wife Mary (Morton) Davis, sons Wayne (Lisa) Davis of Antwerp, Ohio, Johnny (Barbara) Davis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and a stepson Stephen Morton, a sister Marlene (Phill) Holt of Newcastle, Oklahoma and seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all of which are incredibly special to him.
