Gary Dee Culver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary Dee Culver, 84, of Fairland, Oklahoma passed from this life on June 1, 2022, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Dee was born July 27, 1937, in Afton, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Exia Culver and by sisters Ruth and Iris Jean and brother Jerry. He is survived by his brother Howard, who resides in Miami, Oklahoma. After graduating Afton high school in 1955, he enlisted in the Airforce and served for four years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1959. Dee worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Dee also provided for his family as a carpenter. He also served on the Fairland schoolboard and booster club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairland. Dee was married to the love of his life LaDonna Rae Cole for almost 61 years. She survives at the home. Over the years they made many sight-seeing trips including the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls. They also visited countless flea markets across the area and always enjoyed finding a deal. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to them. They hosted countless numbers of family gatherings at the home. They are most proud of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They have three sons, Lee and wife Stacy of Madill, Oklahoma, Alton and wife Kim of Verdigis, Oklahoma, and Doug and wife Jennifer of Webb City Missouri. They had 8 grand-children (and significant others), grandsons Justin (and Tiffany), Jake (and Emily), and Kamdyn, and granddaughters Jessica, Megan (and Colton), Kali, Karson (and Liam) and Kate. They have two great grandchildren, Blakely and Elizabeth, and one more on the way. Dee also had a large number of cousins, nephews and nieces residing from Nevada to Tennessee. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Freeman Hospital who provided exceptional care and compassion over the last week. There will be a Celebration of Life 10:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Fairland, Oklahoma with Reverend Andy Krebs officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairland Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairland.
