Freddie "Skip" Ray Harris, 69, a longtime area resident passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Integris Miami Hospital. He was born on September 21, 1952 in Miami to Earl and Betty (McConnell) Harris. Skip graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College before attending Oklahoma State University. While at OSU to become a veterinarian, Skip instead realized his first love was flying. Skip also served in the United States Army Reserves. He knew his way around a plane, he could work on them just as well as fly them. Mr. Harris did some cattle ranching. He was a member of Quapaw First Baptist Church and was always known to eat dessert first. On January 1, 1995 in Commerce he married the love of his life Cecilia Foust. Skip’s parents Earl and Betty, a brother David Harris and one of his twin daughters Ande Harris preceded him in passing. Those left to share Skip’s memories are his wife Cecilia Harris of the home, his daughter Mande Harris of Miami, Aaron Trone and his husband Daniel of Miami and Kendra Britten of Florida, his grandchildren Jacob McCleery, Chloe Willbee and her husband Levi and Andrea Corbit, his great grandchildren are Aaliyah Willbee and Christopher Willbee. Other survivors include his brother Brian Harris and his wife Debbie of Fairland, his nephews David Harris and his wife Carley, James Harris and his wife Ciara, Adam Harris, his niece Analisa Smith and her husband Dale and great nieces and nephews Lane and Gracie Smith and Hazel Harris. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. Services for Skip will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Quapaw First Baptist Church with Reverend Matt Robertson officiating.
