Edna C Cave-Mathews Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edna Clair Cave-Mathews, 83, a resident of Afton, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born on March 26, 1938, in Noel, Missouri to Thomas Brewster and Eileen (Geist) Norris. After graduating high school Edna attended nursing school She worked at home of hope and Rosewood Nursing Home when she retired. Edna was choir leader in church, would be sure to attend church help in camps, missionary and she was involved in PTA. She attended Cleora Baptist Church and Afton First Assembly of God. Edna had also worked as a cashier and worked on her farm where she loved gardening and her flowers. More than anything she loved watching her grandchildren. Edna was preceded in passing by her grandparents George and Mary Geist, her parents Thomas and Eileen Norris, her husband Robert Cave, her husband Alvie Mathews, her sisters Ivy Lannon and Avis Craft, her brother Thomas Norris, her sons Steven Cave and Rob Cave. Survivors include her daughter Janet Montez and her husband Juan of Afton, Oklahoma, two brothers George Norris and his wife Lil of Mesa, Arizona and John Norris of West Fork, Arkansas, her sisters Rhoda Meeks of Leon, Kansas, Grace Courtney of Jones, Oklahoma and Rayma Hatt of Warsaw, Missouri, her grandchildren Amy Tatum, Shana Tatum of Afton, Robbie Cave of Big Cabin, Oklahoma, Jeannie Mahaffey and husband Matt of Neodesha, Kansas, her great grandchildren Tristy Horton, Jayston Shadwick, Jesse Tatum, Blake , Jessica , Trevar and Tuff Mahaffey and a great great grandchild Hayden Davis. Visitation will be Monday, February 14, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton. Services are Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God in Afton with Reverend Josh Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at the Six killer Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Casketbearers will be Jayston Shadwick, Jesse Tatum, Robbie Cave, Greg Tatum, Santana Montez, Carlos Montez and Santana Montez.
