Courtney Lynn Neal, age 28, lost her life on May 3rd, 2021 near Afton, Oklahoma. Courtney is survived by her husband, Caleb, her mother Julie Brown, her father Robert Bankes, her sister, Samantha Brown and brother Shane Bankes. Courtney is an Army Military Police Corps veteran and served during the Afghanistan War. During her military service she earned a Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal With Campaign Star, Air Assault Badge, and various other medals. During her time of service Courtney obtained the rank of Sergeant. When Courtney completed her contract with the Army, she pursued a college education, receiving a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice at Lockhaven University, PA and a Masters in Emergency and Disaster Relief Management from American Military University. Courtney always placed others needs before her own, willing to sacrifice anything and everything for another’s happiness. She was passionate about helping veterans in any way, shape, or form, while advocating for open and honest discussions regarding veteran PTSD. Her drive and determination helped multiple veterans receive the assistance they needed from the VA. Courtney was kind, pure, and full of light. She will never leave the hearts of the people she touched, nor the minds of the individuals who loved her. 10-42 End of Watch 05/03/2021. Rest easy, we got your six.
