Beverly Kay Grover
April 7, 1944 - January 20, 2022
Beverly Kay Grover, a longtime Miami resident, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Miami Integris Hospital. She was seventy-seven. Beverly was born on April 7, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Earl Douglas and Jewell (Kemmerer) Marlow. On August 9, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Grover. She and Jim moved to Miami in 1967 and have been an integral part of the community ever since. The Grover family was active in the First United Methodist Church in Miami where Beverly sang in the church choir and served as a communion steward for many years. She was also involved in the Methodist Women and was a longtime member of the TNT Sunday school class. She loved NEO Basketball and participated in the NEO Women organization, for which she served as president several times. After raising her children, she went back to college in her early fifties, completed her degree to become a registered nurse, and began a career that was deeply meaningful to her. Beverly touched many lives in her role as a nurse, leaving a lasting impression on those she worked with and the patients she cared for. She adored animals, and after her retirement, she volunteered for many years at a local animal shelter in Miami. Beverly was remarkable for so many things, but especially for her displays of love and appreciation for her family and friends. She had a way of making people feel special, showing her interest in the lives of those around her. She loved sunshine, working in her well-manicured yard, tending to her flowers, watching the hummingbirds that visited in the spring and summer, and the martins that chose to make her backyard their home. Nothing brought her more joy than being with her family and attending her children's and grandchildren's activities. Those who loved Beverly the most are her husband of fifty-nine years Jim Grover, her children, Jamee Combs and her husband Tim of Inola, Oklahoma, Dr. Kenda Grover and Dr. Tom Whiteside of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Darin Grover and his wife Courtney of Durant, Oklahoma and Dr. Dustin Grover and his wife Elsie of Miami along with her grandchildren Ryan Combs, Derek Combs, Carter Combs, Sydney Grover, Case Grover, Isaiah Grover and Gia Grover. Mrs. Grover was preceded in passing by her parents Earl and Jewell Marlow and a sister Delores Walker. Remembering the Life of Beverly K. Grover Covid did not allow the opportunity for a proper visitation to honor the life of Beverly K. Grover. The Grover family requests your presence for a come and go afternoon of remembrance.
