Alta Louise Shamblin went to be with her Saviour, July 30. She was born May 27, 1935 to Vida and Leonard Angel in Fairland, Oklahoma. Alta’s life was full, productive and held a perfect love for her family. She would always give everything that mattered in life her very best effort. She grew up on a farm in Fairland, Oklahoma. She married George Ellis Shamblin, Sr., August 4, 1955. If ever you knew of someone who worked tirelessly, Alta was right there with them. Together, George and Alta bought the Miami Tin Shop in 1966. They ran “the shop” together for 42 years. They were honest, dependable and conscientious in all they attempted in life and business. It was always evident to her children and husband that she aimed, always, at a job well done. In 1974 Alta and George bought a farm and ranch in Bluejacket,OK. There they raised a large cattle herd and enjoyed God’s gifts of farming, ranching and nature. Alta along with George worked to uphold integrity of the animals and the land. She was always open to learning and working to achieve her goals. Her favorite place was in the garden where she grew wonderful vegetables and flowers. She found refuge of lives weary burdens there and so many times she would meet with Jesus while she hummed one of her favorite songs; “I Come to the Garden Alone”. In 2000 they sold the farm and moved into Miami. George past from this life June 11, 2009. Her survivors will never forget her and hold closely in their hearts all the love and life she had to offer.
