Patsy Ann Martin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patsy Ann (Pewitt) Martin, 87, of Miami, Oklahoma, who passed away peacefully in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her warm smile, loving heart, and infectious laugh. Patsy was born on March 31, 1938 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Ollie Elizabeth Pewitt and Bernard Bruce Pewitt. After graduating from Miami High School she married the love of her life, Charles Martin. She attended NEO A&M College where she was a member of the Norse Stars. Patsy later returned to school and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Social work from The University of Oklahoma. She was licensed as a clinical social worker and worked primarily in the home health field in and around Miami. Patsy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Miami. Patsy was active in the Business and Professional Women's organization, and enjoyed painting, reading, bird-watching, and playing cards. She and Charles enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Patsy's parents preceded her in passing along with her brother Willis Eugene “Gene” Pewitt. She is survived by her sons David Martin of Kansas City, MO and Eric Martin of Columbia, MO, brothers, Robert Pewitt and his wife Ann of Grove, Michael Pewitt and his wife Ruth of Conroe, TX, Kevan Pewitt and his wife Lesa of Houston, TX, a sister, Tere Perry of Pearland, TX, a nephew, Doug Pewitt and his wife Dolly of Grove, a niece, Dawn Pewitt of Grove, a grand-daughter, Lula Patsy Martin, of Columbia, MO, and many friends. Please join us for a celebration of life luncheon at noon on Saturday August 16, 2025 at the Peoria Ridge Banquet Room with a graveside service at the Bluejacket Cemetery following at 2 pm. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Stroke Association.
