Marilyn Patricia Miller Stark 6/24/1927-2/23/2016 Our very loved Wife, Mother, Mema, and friend left this Earth to enter Heaven’s gates February 23, 2016 surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer. She was loved by many and will be so very missed. Marilyn was born on June 24, 1927 to Laurel Revel and Gertrude (Hawk) Miller in Los Angeles, California. She attended LA High and upon graduation enrolled at UCLA where she was president of the Delta Gamma Sorority and graduated in business with honors in June 1949. She married David M. Stark, July 15, 1949 and moved to the San Joaquin Valley to Lindsey, California to join the family orange business, Stark Packing Corporation with his brother and father. Her life there revolved around raising her four children while being very active in the 4-H community and her childrens activities. In 1970, David’s love of cattle ranching brought them to Oklahoma. They purchased a cattle ranch naming it S\S Ranch and made their home in Miami. Marilyn was involved in PEO, serving many terms as president, Letters and Arts, Book Club, numerous bridge clubs and her special “Coffee Group”. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as treasurer for many years. Marilyn’s love of the water provided many children and adults with swim lessons and many vacations at the beach. She loved her friends and loved spending time with them. She leaves behind her husband, David, of 66 years; son, Richard of Tulsa, daughters and son in-laws Laurel and Jim Wilson of Tulsa, Leslie and Stephen Vail of Greeley, CO and Trudy and Brent Emery of Tulsa. Grandchildren Amber (Stark) and Marc Rollerson of Grapevine, TX, Revel and Melissa Stark of San Diego, CA, David and Alex Wilson of Tulsa, Jane Wilson of Prairie Village, KS, Levi Vail of Dahlonega, GA and Lauren Vail both of Greeley, CO and Clara and Jackson Emery of Tulsa. Other survivors include her great grandchildren Siena and Beau Stark of Sandiego, CA and Isabella Rollerson of Grapevine, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son David Michael and her siblings Jane Collins, Robert and Richard Miller. The family would like to acknowledge the special care provided by Hortensia Holman, Sacred Rose Healthcare and Legacy Hospice. A memorial service under the direction of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service, will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Miami, OK with Reverend Geoff Buffalo officiating.
